Your Name on the Net
January 25, 2008The other day I received an email from someone thanking me for my contribution to eschatology. This gentleman was appreciative of my insight into all things concerning the end of the world and particularly with my proclamation that President George Bush was indeed the antichrist. This wasn’t the first time someone had congratulated me on doing this study on the end times. The problem is, I never said George Bush was the antichrist, nor am I an expert on eschatology.
Steve Hanchett has written such things and made such pronouncements, but it is R. Steven Hanchett and not Steven A. Hanchett. If you are interested you can find the Book by the other Steve Hanchett on Amazon.com Here
Thanks to google you can type in your name and find most anything that has ever been published on the web by you or about you. You can even find that people with the same name might be mistaken for you.
My name is not all that common. How many Hanchetts do you know?
How many Hanchetts are writing about Christian subjects?
I understand the confusion on the part of the people who have emailed me. But it is unearned fame. It all reminded me of the Seinfeld episode where Jerry and George take a limo from the airport that was actually meant for a neo-nazi leader. They end being mistaken for this nazi and are attacked by an angry mob on the streets of New York. Hey, if any of you George Bushites are really angry about Steve Hanchett saying George Bush is the antichrist – just remember there is more than one Steve Hanchett in this world.

I love that episode! One of the funniest ever.
There are lots of people with my name, and one of them lives only a few miles from me. It can be very confusing at times.
I thought Sonny Bono was the antichrist.
To Stephan Hanchett, I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter -Day Saints. I have just read some of your comments about my Church and find little truth in what you have written. I wonder If we are some way related . My great, great great grandfather was Joseph Smiths boot maker. I have a fair background in theology and would love to talk to you about some of the false information you have disseminated about my church. Perhaps we could get together in some way.
I think you have me confused with another Hanchett. I don’t remember making any comments about your church. Nevertheless, I would be happy to discuss your church. Interesting about your grandfather. I wonder where i fit in theat family tree – if at all.
