I’m still really short on time and have more or less turned over the Eckhart Tolle discussion to others for the moment. Thanks to all who are being gracious and kind in your discussion.
I did want to take a moment post a link to another subject in which I am very interested. The center of Christianity seems to be shifting to the Global South. Philip Jenkins has a book out on the subject and there is a good article on the Carnegie Council web site about this shift.
I highly recommend you read it if you are interested in missions, where Christianity is heading and what God is doing in the world.

I haven’t been involved in the ongoing conversation on my own blog for over a week due to business and then sickness. Still not up to par yet, but getting better. I don’t have the time nor energy right now to add anything new to the discussion but I thought I would put this link up for another article on the subject. The article by Chuck Norris is found at Townhall.com

Now, I suppose this would be a pointless exercise if it weren’t for the fact that Tolle has tried to sell his ideas as the ideas of Jesus himself. He has tried to lead people to believe what he is saying is straight out of the New Testament. It isn’t, and that is what I hope to demonstrate. Read the rest of this entry ?

Forty years ago this year (2008) Maharishi Mahesh Yogi had a book published by the New York publishing house, “The New American Library.” The title of the book was “The Science of Being and the Art of Living.” Maharishi’s book was an integration of the Hindu wisdom of India with Western scientific thinking. It was Maharishi’s attempt at popularizing Hinduism and making it acceptable to the Western world. Read the rest of this entry ?

The first 3 of the 10 Commandments presupposes there is a God and that God can be known. These commandments are founded on the premise that not every god is God. Those who wish to say that everyone is ultimately worshiping the same God, no matter what that god is is called, will have a hard time finding support for that idea in the basic moral and spiritual code of the Bible.
