Obama’s Efforts to Stall Troop Withdrawl

September 15, 2008

The New York Post has an interesting article about the behind-the-scenes efforts of Senator Obama to delay any troop withdrawl from Iraq and any agreement on a troop withdrawl.  Why would the guy who keeps saying he wants US Troops out of Iraq want a delay.  According to Iraqi sources he wasnt them to wait till after the election.  Apparently, there is some fear that he needs Iraq to appear to be a failure so he can bolster his own philosophy on foreign policy.

I would suggest that it might also be that if he can get it stalemated until after the election and then strike a deal he will come off looking like a hero, the guy who was able to get troops out of Iraq.  Bush couldn’t get it done, buy Obama did right after taking office.

The 1900 Hurricane that Struck Galveston

September 11, 2008

I have been praying today for the folks on the Texas coast and am hoping that Ike loses strength before landfall.  As I was thinking about this storm I recalled a book I read several years ago that I would recommend concerning the 1900 storm that struck Galveston.  The book is Isaac’s Storm.  Thankfully, much has been learned since 1900 about tracking these storms.  I feel for those people having to leave their homes behind,  but am glad that they are being given adequate warning to have the opportunity to leave.

Lance Making a Comeback?

September 9, 2008

VeloNews has put out a report that Lance Armstrong will make a comeback and ride with Team Astana in the 2009 Tour de France.  Lance will turn 37 this year, so while he would be one of the older pros in the Tour, it is not out of the question that he could do this.

I’m sure there will be questions about what his motives are for making a comeback.  I’m confident we can eliminate a few – I don’t think he needs to money, he has already won the Tour 7 times, so I don’t think it is because he feels he has to prove something – he has a new bike shop and the livestrong program, so I doubt he is bored with sitting around the house watching Oprah.

Here is my theory, and its just my theory.  Some people just love to compete.  They don’t like watching the game, they want to be in it.  That is why Brett Farve is playing in New York this year.  If Lance comes back that will be the reason.  Yes, it is as simple as that.  He sat out and he misses the race.  He knows he can still do it, so why not go for it?

Not that he doesn’t already know this, but there will be those who will do everything in their power to try to find some evidence that Lance is a doper.  I predict that the stringent drug testing programs now in place and continually being developed are going to turn out to be a vindication for Armstrong.   If he comes back and wins or even comes close to winning the Tour again, maybe it will forever close the door on those who say he cheated in his past victories.

The danger is if he comes back and bombs out they will say he couldn’t do it because he had to be clean.

My bet is on him proving the sceptics wrong.  Unfortunately, we have to wait almost a year to find out.

Barak’s Presidential Seal

September 6, 2008

Well, recently Barak Obama unveiled his presidential seal or an imitation of one or something of that sort.  Who knows what narcisistic idea was driving this brilliant move.  The real US Presidential seal has been around since Rutherford B. Hayes and was later modified by Woodrow Wilson and Harry Truman.  You can read all the details and symbolism of the Presidential Seal HERE.

Presidential Seal

Presidential Seal

The seal has the Latin phrase “E pluribus unum” above the eagles head which translates into English as “out of many, one.” The motto has multiple meanings.  It suggests that out of many colonies or states emerge a single nation; out of many peoples, races and ancestry of nationalities have emerged a single people and nation.

Compare that to Obama’s great seal…

Yes We Can

Yes We Can

It has the Latin phrase “Vero Possumus,” which sounds stupid even in Latin, but translates in English to “Yes We Can!”  I’m so sick of hearing that…. To all those people standing around chanting that phrase, exactly what is it you guys can do?  What does Barak mean by that?  You might want to do a little reading on the progressive movement in America before you drink the Koolaide.  This is nothing less than Marxist Socialist ideology.  That is what you are chanting about.

Ok, Now I Get It – Why the Media Thinks Palin Wasn’t Vetted

September 4, 2008

The national media, otherwise known as the Obama Campaign Opposition Research Team, realized real quick that they had gone to far in their stupid attacks on Sarah Palin.  Their obsession with her tazer-weilding ex-brother-in-law, her pregnant daughter, her husband’s DUI from 20 something years ago, her down’s syndrome baby….was clearly the left-wing media’s attempt at a slash and burn war against conservative politics.  Knowing that they had gone to far and were cutting their own throat they changed the narrative.  They told us the problem they were addressing was that McCain didn’t vet her, he made a rash decision, he didn’t really know her and would probably have to dump her from the ticket.

I was watching an interview with one of the Obama loving media personalities and they unknowingly revealed what really bothers them.  As Jesus said, “out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.”  Open you mouth enough and what you really believe is bound to come out.  This person said, “If McCain was going to pick Palin he should have leaked it several months ago so we could have vetted her along with the McCain campaign.”

So let’s see if I understand this – you think our Presidential candidates need your approval for their VP picks.  What really ticks them off is she is not one of the in crowd.  She doesn’t have their approval and apparently doesn’t care if she gets it.  Good for her.

The liberal national media can’t understand why their newspapers are struggling financially and why nobody watches their evening news programs.  Here is a hint – the people don’t need you telling us what to believe and who to govern us.  We the people are fed up with you and your methods.
